Jay-Z Is Rap’s First Billionaire

It's official: Jay-Z is rap's first billionaire. Although he gained fame through his music, the artist amassed his fortune across several different industries throughout his career. He helped launch Roc-A-Fella Records, Roc Nation, and Tidal. Jay-Z crossed over into the apparel industry with the Rocawear label and sold the successful brand for $200 million. He also invests in art, and Forbes reported that Jay-Z views his art collection, worth $70 million, as a smart investment.

Art isn't the only major investment Jay-Z has made. He's put another $50 million into real estate for his family with Beyonce, buying high-end property in California and in his home state of New York. What else? Like Sean Combs, Jay-Z invested in liquor labels, including D'USSÉ Cognac and Armand de Brignac-- an extremely high-end champagne label. While he may have officially reached billionaire status, there's no slowing down for this entrepreneur.
