Golf champion Dustin Johnson has earned a glamorous lifestyle, which includes some gorgeous homes. His North Palm Beach residence is right on the water, with a lake-side pool and stunning views. Worth nearly $5 million, the home has more than 4,000 square feet complete with 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. Read on to take a look inside the beautiful Florida estate.
Lovely Curb Appeal
The home has a gorgeous exterior that is both extravagant and welcoming. A stone driveway leads to the cream-colored building, complete with an archway before the dark front door.
Inside, 4 bedrooms are plenty of space for the famous golfer and his partner, model Paulina Gretzky. The pair met in 2009 and became engaged in 2013 after seven months of dating. As you’ll see, this property affords the couple room to both entertain and raise a family.
A Waterfront Estate
This view showcases how close the home is to the lake. It sits right by the water enabling the homeowner to go straight from the house to their boat. The water also provides a stunning and peaceful view apparent through the back windows.
In addition to the home’s 4-car garage, there is also a huge driveway that offers ample parking spaces. There is also elegant landscaping at the entrance, complete with flowerbeds and palm trees.
The Formal Foyer
Upon entering the home, the first area you encounter is the formal foyer. Curved walls on either side make the space feel like a separate room, while the glass door keeps it well-lit.
Wall molding prevents the space from feeling dull. The bright walls contrast the dark wood of the floor and door frame, and there’s just enough room for a centerpiece table. The elegance of this simple room sets up the tone for the rest of the home.
A Sunlit Living Room
The foyer opens up to the formal living room. Though the staged design only has a sofa in this room, there’s space for two couches, a loveseat, and lounging chairs if needed.
This angle also reveals two chandeliers, one hanging above the foyer and another in the seating area to the left. Straight ahead is a dry bar with built-in cabinetry for games, toys, or any other items that need to be stored. Next to the dry bar is an archway leading to the bedrooms.
A View Of The Backyard
From this angle, you can see why the living room is full of so much natural light. A huge window spans almost from the floor to the ceiling, creating an outdoor-indoor experience.
The arched window mirrors the archways to the left and right, counterbalancing the rigidity of the window panels and the wall molding. Outside is a gorgeous view of the backyard, which you’ll soon see has an extravagant lake-side pool, palm trees, and a large lawn.
The incredible details throughout this home make it feel like more than just four walls and a roof. The arched window mirrors an exterior archway directly beyond, creating a cinematic feel as you gaze out to the backyard.
Part of the dramatic tone of this room comes from the tall tray ceiling, which is embellished by an octagonal design and recessed lighting. Light also pools in from the room to the right, where a sliding glass door leads outside.
An Open Concept Floorplan
Off the living room is this sunny area which features an open concept floorplan between the dining area, family room, and kitchen. It’s ideal for people who love to entertain or have children, since the person cooking can still interact with those lounging in the other spaces.
As with the living room, the tray ceiling above this family room intensifies its already elevated height. It is also complete with a ceiling fan and recessed lighting.
Plenty Of Windows In The Family Room
This angle reveals how much natural light pours into the room. The double-wide sliding glass door provides more views of the backyard, while windows along the back wall bring in even more light.
Above the dining room is another octagonal tray ceiling, which coincides with the one in the living room and adds a touch of architectural flair to the space. There is also an elegant chandelier hanging over the dining room and crown molding throughout.
A Cozy Room, But With Lots Of Space For Relaxing
Though the family room isn’t quite as spacious as the living room, it still offers plenty of space for a complete furniture set or a large sectional as is pictured. A television is mounted on the wall in front of the couch, but it’s viewable from the kitchen and the dining room, as well.
This makes for the perfect Superbowl party setup, or any other sports viewing get-together. We would imagine that Dustin Johnson enjoyed watching golfing matches with company here.
A Gorgeous Kitchen
They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and that certainly seems to be the case in this house. It’s nestled between living spaces so that the aroma of cooking food would likely fill the place right away.
The kitchen’s unique shape is designed so that it opens up to the family room and is full of natural light from the sliding glass door. Barstools provide extra seating in between the kitchen, the family room, and the dining table, so party guests are always within view of one another.
Plenty Of Room To Cook
Those who enjoy having dinner parties would love this kitchen because it is situated so that the cook doesn’t have to miss a beat. The sink and dishwasher are built into the counter to the left so that you don’t face away from guests while doing the dishes.
There is ample countertop space around the kitchen’s perimeter, plus a huge island in the middle with extra cabinetry underneath. The large stove has a stainless steel range hood that makes the kitchen look chef-ready.
A Spacious Bedroom
This bedroom is just as sizeable as the living room, with plenty of space for furniture. Even with a king-sized bed and a large dresser, the room feels almost empty.
As with the rest of the house, there is plenty of natural lighting flooding the room, thanks to two large windows as a glass door. All three look out to the beautiful backyard and lake beyond. The tray ceiling has that familiar octagonal shape as well as a ceiling fan and recessed lighting.
The bedroom has an exquisite view of the backyard and the pool with palm trees and lush vegetation in the distance. A glass door provides outdoor access and lets in even more light, as does the small window above it.
While the door has Venetian blinds, the large window to the left has no blinds to obstruct the view. Instead, curtains hang from almost ceiling-height to provide privacy and block the sunlight early in the morning.
A Stunning Master Bathroom
One of the most stunning parts of the home is the master bathroom. It features gray and white marble flooring that continues up the tub and the walk-in shower beyond.
His and hers sinks mirror one another on either side of the room, and each features ample counter space and cabinetry underneath. The vanities also have enormous mirrors that bounce natural light around the room and make the space feel even larger than it already is.
The Bathtub Is The Focal Point
Bathtubs tend to be one of the loveliest features in a bathroom, so it’s no wonder this one is designed so that the tub is the focal point. It sits in the center of the room beneath a mirror that grabs your attention the minute you walk in.
Next to the double vanities are also linen closets with built-in shelving. Matching archways lead to a giant marble shower accessible from both sides of the bathroom.
The Shower Has A Full-Size Window
If you were wondering where all that natural light throughout the bathroom was coming from, this is your answer. The shower stall is so massive that it has room for a full-sized window.
The window looks out to the side of the building so no neighbors would be able to peer in. The vegetation outside gives the feeling of an outdoor shower while the marble walls have a more upscale feel. In the evening, recessed lighting illuminates the grand shower.
A Built-In Office
The home features include a gorgeous home office with a built-in desk and plenty of shelving and storage. To the left is a step ladder that’s connected to a rail so that it can slide across the room, giving the homeowner access to extra storage above.
It would be the perfect place to store books and transform the room into a home library. Spotlights above the shelves would also make it a perfect place to showcase trophies.
A Lovely Spare Room
This bedroom is quite spacious for a spare room. It would be perfect for guests, a child, or a roommate. Even with a queen-sized bed, there’s plenty of space for other furniture like nightstands, a dresser, or even a desk.
Windows flank the bed and have a view of lush vegetation outside. Crown molding gives the room a more refined look. Other perks include a ceiling fan and recessed lighting overhead that keeps the room well-lit at night.
Perfect For Outdoor Parties
The back patio is just as impressive as the interior of the home. A huge awning provides plenty of shade and is complete with two ceiling fans and recessed lighting. The stone flooring gives some color to the neutral patio and there’s plenty of room for a full-length outdoor dining table.
Barstools provide even more seating, making this a perfect spot for a pool party. You could also open the sliding glass doors so that guests can mingle across the way.
An Outdoor Kitchen
The patio also features an outdoor kitchen that’s nearly as impressive as the one inside! It features plenty of countertop space with storage underneath. There is also a sink and a barbecue complete with a range hood.
The ceiling fan overhead can help keep things cool while barbecuing in summer months, and a mounted television provides entertainment to both the chef and guests. To top it off, the kitchen overlooks a gorgeous view of the lake!
All Stainless Steel
This closer look at the outdoor kitchen reveals how exquisite the stainless steel appliances are. The drawers and shelf doors are all stainless steel as well so that everything matches and suits the outdoor environment.
There are also windows on either side of the range hood to let in extra air in case it gets too smoky. The windows can also create a cross-breeze to help keep the chef cool on those hot summer days.
The view from the outdoor dining area is striking. The pool, green lawn, lake, and trees are all visible in the distance, making it feel like a vacation in paradise. Though the neighbors are relatively close, green hedges provide ample privacy.
There is also a ton of patio space for people to dance or play games. There’s even room for extra tables for a large event like a major birthday or even a wedding reception!
A Modern Pool And Spa
The pool in this backyard is far from average. The rectangle has two cutouts for planters to enhance the landscaping and give the pool a unique touch. The spa is also inside the pool!
A square cutout in the pool creates space for a spa so that people in the warm or the cool water are right by each other! Though there are visible homes across the lake, they are distant enough that the property still feels private.
Room For Lounging Chairs
From this direction, you can see that there is plenty of room between the house and the pool to place several lounge chairs, just like a resort. Residents can go for a dip and then lay out to dry in the sun and get a tan.
Since one of the bedrooms has direct access to the pool, the person whose room that is could go right into the shower without leaving a trail of water through the house.
The back of the home is so beautiful that it could be the front! The pool looks even larger from this side and leads up to the gorgeous and unique architecture of the home.
The archway straight ahead contrasts with the sharp edges of the home and windows. The dark trim of the doors and windows create a lovely juxtaposition against the cream-colored walls, while the stone pillars and tan furniture tie it all together.
The Aerial View
An aerial view showcases the home’s unique design and the large, unorthodox shape of the pool. You can see how far the patio extends and how large the roof over the outdoor kitchen and dining area really is.
Though the single-story home seems modest for a professional athlete, it certainly stands out compared to many houses that don’t have quite the same style. The estate may not be a mansion, but it does have more than 4,000 square feet and impressive features throughout.
A Lakeside Green Lawn
This view showcases the home from the lake, revealing how close it really is to the water. It also highlights how huge the backyard is! Beyond the already sizeable patio and pool is this large lawn of grass.
It provides plenty of room for family games and sports. While there isn’t enough room for Dustin Johnson to play a round of golf, it would be spacious enough for mini-golf or to teach a little one how to swing.
A Large Dock
Past the yard is yet another property perk! The home comes with a long dock that leads into the lake. It would be perfect for those who love boating or just want to be surrounded by water without going in.
The deck goes straight out for several yards before turning and continuing out to the side. It would be the perfect place to stand on the 4th of July to watch the fireworks show.
Room For A Yacht
One thing that the property listing was sure to mention is that the dock has enough room for a yacht! Being that Dustin Johnson is reportedly worth somewhere between $20 million and $80 million, he could certainly afford a nice boat.
The dock isn’t just convenient for boating around the lake. It also provides a place to park your boat when you aren’t transporting it to the beach. Even without a boat, having a dock would is a nice addition.
Views In Both Directions
An aerial view of the entire property shows just how large the outdoor space is. The long dock leads to a long path running by the backyard, which seems to go on forever.
This angle also shows that there are views from the house going in both directions. Facing one way, you see the lake. Looking the other direction, you see lush greenery and the downtown cityscape in the distance. The house also sits next to an empty lot, meaning there’s even more privacy.
The Massive Estate In Orlando Hit The Market In 2018, Giving Fans A Look Inside
The staggering estate includes 31,000 square feet of living space sitting on three acres. It includes a 1,170 square foot great room, a 6,000 square foot indoor basketball court, a 15-feet-deep pool, a 17-car garage, and so much more.
The gated entrance and massive driveway make it clear right from the start that this is no ordinary house. The vibrant blue roof makes the expansive property standout among lush trees, but it also blends well with the surrounding water.
A Stunning Foyer
Once you enter the home, you’re greeted by a foyer that looks like it came straight out of a fairytale. Two curved staircases with intricate iron detailing and glossy, wooden handrails lead to a balcony above.
The light, wood floors are heavily glossed and feature dark, curved lines that create a pathway towards the great room. The architectural details and contrasting tones give the eye much to take in as you make your way through the grand entrance.
The Great Room Lives Up To Its Name
If you head straight past the foyer and in between the two curved staircases, you’ll enter the “great room.” The large gathering place is decorated in such a way that it combines elements of a living room and a dining area.
As we’ll see, there are multiple rooms in the megamansion that could be considered a living room or eating area, equipped with dining tables. The mansion is a dream for someone who loves to entertain, as it would comfortably accommodate hundreds of guests.
A Room For Any Purpose
From the opposite direction, you can see how the architecture really makes the great room pop. The ceiling extends to the height of the roof and is emphasized with wooden beams laid out in a pattern.
Three bay windows open up the far wall to expose the waterfront view behind dramatic navy drapes. A piano is positioned against the left wall and opposite the eye-catching fireplace. At nearly 1200 square feet and double-height, you could build an entire house in this space alone.
A Formal Dining Room For 16
The formal dining room is located next to the foyer and features the same color tones and architectural detailing that we saw at the home’s entrance. Two light features hang above the extra long table, which has room for a whopping 16 guests.
The pinstripe fabric of the chairs picks up on the design on the floors. The dark, stone table has the glossy effect present throughout the home, causing light to dance across the tabletop.
A Waterfront Chef’s Kitchen
The chef’s kitchen features a double-wide fridge over which there is a built-in, flat-screen television! The massive island is lined with tall chairs that are in perfect view of the TV. A double oven and ample shelving ensure that large cooking needs can be met.
A full-size dining room table offers extra seating for guests and overlooks the beautiful, waterfront view outside. Recessed lighting causes the room to glisten while wooden beams make the space feel warm and homey.
A Place To Unwind
To the left of the kitchen is this cozy but spacious living room. A floor to ceiling fireplace provides separation between this area and the kitchen while still allowing the rooms to flow from one to the next.
A light feature hidden in a beam above the sliding glass doors illuminates the vaulted ceilings while the chandelier ties the room together. A large sectional atop a soft area rug encourages guests to get snug by the fireplace.
A Personalized Mural
Facing the opposite direction in the living room, you’ll see this wall mural that has Shaq written all over it. An image of downtown covers the wall and parts of a semi truck are used to give the illusion that the truck is driving straight towards you.
On the grill of the truck is the Superman logo, a favorite of Shaq’s that reappears throughout the home. If you look closely, you’ll notice that that the truck’s driver is none other than Shaq himself.
Personal Movie Theater
When you’re as famous as Shaq, going to the movie theaters can mean being bombarded by adoring fans. So, it only makes sense that he has his very own movie theater inside his megamansion. The space features raked lounge chair seating that can accommodate ten viewers.
In the back corner is a popcorn machine and framed movie posters line the walls. In addition to recessed lighting, there is also light sconces that emit that trademark theater lighting during a showing, and feature the Superman logo Shaq loves so much.
An Entertainment Space
In case there weren’t enough places to entertain in this megamansion, there’s also this gathering place. It features a pool table with a waterfront view, multiple television screens, a minibar, a dining room table, and a living room furniture set.
It would be a perfect room to host a game night in or to do a mock casino party. Guests can play poker at the table, enjoy a drink at the counter, or play charades around the couch.
An Upstairs Bonus Room
This megamansion is truly a dream place to hold massive parties, as it has so many places to lounge with guests and incredible views from them all! Here is yet another entertainment space that has a complete wet bar with a flat-screen television.
The room features warm, bronze walls with a stone-like design and a matching ceiling. White crown molding brightens up the space and massive sliding glass doors allow natural light to fill the room.
A Pool With A Water View
The gorgeous pool has an impressive length but isn’t your typical rectangular shape. Its unique design is pleasing to look at and features a built-in spa and a shallow ledge for young children.
Being that Shaq stands at just over 7-feet-tall, it’s not surprising that he wanted a deep pool. He opted for a 15-feet-deep pool to ensure that he gets the feeling of being fully submerged. While swimming, you can look out at the view and feel as though you’re swimming in the ocean.
A Swim Up Bar
Another thing that sets this pool apart from most is the swim-up bar with underwater stools lining. Guests don’t even have to get out of the water to grab a drink or a burger! Shaq can grab a patty off the grill, turn around and deliver it straight to his guests.
From this angle, you can also see the gorgeous waterfall feature that pours into the pool. The rock wall and surrounding vegetation offer plenty of privacy.
Plenty Of Space For His Car Collection
It’s no secret that Shaq loves to splurge on luxury vehicles. Naturally, he needs a place to keep all of his cars safe. That’s why his mansion is equipped with several garages and showrooms. Here you can see one of his cars parked in the middle of a showroom.
Mirrors surround the walls to show off the vehicle from every angle, and the floor is covered in clean tiles rather than oil-stained cement. Of course, the room wouldn’t be complete without a giant Superman logo.
A Basketball Court Fit For A Pro
Though Shaq retired from basketball years ago, we suspect he still loves to play a game with his fellow ballplayers. To make sure they can get the feel of a professional game, he had a full-sized basketball court built into his mansion.
To the left you can see his name written on the court’s edge. The space features windows and a large skylight, a Superman logo, and framed jerseys and other accolades displayed on the walls.
A Spacious Spare Room
This room is barely furnished, offering merely a king-sized bed. Being that the home has 8 bedrooms and 10.5 baths, it’s unlikely that each one is occupied at all times. We would guess that this room is used for overnight guests or extended family visits.
Decoration aside, this is a gorgeous room full of natural light. The ceiling curves up to reveal a lovely bay window. French doors open up to a private balcony that overlooks the mansion’s impressive entrance.
An Island-Inspired Bedroom
Between the island-themed design and the poolside view, this bedroom seems more like a vacation bungalow that an everyday crashpad. The taupe-green color of the walls combined with the bamboo curtains gives the room a naturalistic feel.
The sliding glass door offers the bedroom dweller easy access to and from the pool. The corner unit also has a window to let in extra light and create a gentle cross breeze. Recessed lighting and a ceiling fan complete the charming room.
A Poolside Suite
Next door to the room we just looked at is another bedroom with exclusive pool access. Though this one doesn’t have a window, it gets that same quaint view of the pool and the vegetation beyond through the sliding glass door.
The room features a wall cutout that just fits a flat-screen television that’s in perfect view of the bed. A ceiling fan keeps air flowing throughout the room and recessed lighting fills the space with light once the sun’s gone down.
A Luxurious En Suite
Through the mirror, you can see the wall cutout and television we saw in the previous room, indicating that this is the attached bathroom. The en suite is so impressive that if we didn’t know better, we’d think it was attached to the master.
The bathroom’s golden crown moulding glistens in the sunlight. A large window offers fresh air and a waterfront view. The shower stall is completely separate with its own light and a glass door while the large tub is the focal point of the space.
Two Rooms In One
This bedroom looks like it could be double the size of many master suites. The four-post bed has a bamboo-inspired design that stands out in the lightly colored room and matches the palm tree light sconces.
The soft blue walls melt into the baby blue sky and gentle waters the room overlooks. A seating area is subtly separated by an archway and adds so much space to the room that it has its own ceiling fan.
A Well-Equipped Bathroom
This bathroom features warm tiles along the floor and the walls of the rectangular shower stall. The brown undertones of the granite countertops and the wood vanity give the bathroom a homey feel and are topped with a large mirror.
You may be surprised to have noticed a standalone, porcelain bidet resting in the corner. It’s a feature you don’t always see in the states, but one that is highly appreciated by those who favor its use.
An Identical Bedroom
If you feel like you’re having deja vu, you’re not. This room is practically an exact replica of the last bedroom we saw, only the furniture and the view out the window are just slightly different.
This room features oak furniture, simple light sconces, a dresser next to the window, and a view slightly obstructed by flowing palm trees. Both rooms face the same direction, have the same layout, and offer two ceiling fans to keep cool in the summer.
A Room Fit For Superman
Shaq’s room is large enough to fit an apartment inside of and luxurious enough to be fit for Superman himself. The view out of the windows is picture-perfect, and a sliding glass door in the corner offers outdoor access.
The ceiling is painted in such a way to look textured. A fireplace sits in front of the massive, circular bed fitted with a Superman blanket. Rather than a television, he has a projector that plays onto a retractable screen.
An Enormous Master Bathroom
Nothing shows the enormity of this mansion quite like Shaq’s bathroom does. The tub sitting in the middle of the space looks more like a jacuzzi and even has it’s own individual lighting. Across the way is a shower stall with Shaq’s adored Superman logo imprinted onto the glass door.
French doors flanked by two vertical windows offer plenty of fresh air. A flat-screen television is propped below yet another window through which sunlight pours into the space.
The Master Bathroom’s Other Side
We weren’t kidding when we said that Shaq’s bathroom is enormous. Turning in the opposite direction is the other side of the massive space. The room is so large that it makes the area rug look small.
The lengthy countertop offers plenty of storage space below and is topped with a large mirror. Straight ahead is a second shower stall and yet another toilet, next to which there is a bidet. Tucked away to the left are additional cabinetry and counter space.
An Organized Walk-In Closet
A door in the bathroom takes you to this walk-in closet. Built-in shelving makes it easy to stay organized and show off Shaq’s extensive shoe collection. The space also features a built-in dresser that offers plenty of drawers and a counter to lay out clothes.
Shaq’s ties hang on a wall fixture and a mirror hangs on the back of the door so that he can check his outfit before even leaving the closet. Recessed lighting fills the room.
A Sunny Home Office
This sunroom would be a dream for someone who works from home. Being that Shaq has pursued higher education in business, we can imagine him working at this desk while looking out at the waterfront view.
On either side of his desk are seating areas where he could hold an in-person meeting or kick back and read. The room is flooded with light by day while recessed lighting comes in handy on those late work nights.
Shaded Outdoor Seating
A separate porch with a built-in awning offers a shaded place to savor the view or converse with others. The outdoor furniture provides ample seating and acts like yet another living room.
This would be a great spot to play a board game or enjoy a picnic without worrying about ants or shards of grass. The water’s horizon is clear of any neighbors and a ten-foot privacy wall around the property ensures you don’t have to worry about looky-loos.
The Perfect Place To Watch The Sunset
A long boardwalk comes with the property and leads out to this private lookout. In addition to a couple of lounge chairs, Shaq has a life-size Superman figure standing out on the dock who appears to be watching the sunset.
This would be a wonderful place to do some thinking or to clear your mind with meditation. Surrounded by the water and the open sky, you can escape into nature’s solitude and temporarily forget about life’s worries.
The Staggering View From Above
An aerial view of the property reveals just how grand the megamansion is in terms of size. In addition to the large pool, there is also a fair amount of yard space behind the home.
From this view you can also see that a body of water is on both sides of the house, offering magnificent views to the front and the rear-facing rooms. Shaq purchased the home for just under $4 million in 1993 and has since put it on the market numerous times with an asking price of around $20 million.
