Microsoft Introduces The Surface Duo

Microsoft is finally entering the smartphone industry. The tech company revealed its new Surface Duo phone on October 2nd and it looks pretty cool.

The Surface Duo is Microsoft's first phone. The phone has two screens, which differs from the Galaxy Fold phone. Both screens are 5.6-inch displays. When open and expanded the phone becomes an 8.3-inch device. Microsoft has partnered with Google for the device so that it can utilize apps from the Google Play Store.

"This product brings together the absolute best of Microsoft, and we're partnering with Google to bring the absolute best of Android in one product," Microsoft product chief Panos Panay told CNET.

The phone is a long time coming as they've been attempting to create a mobile OS for more than 20 years. There is no official release date for the device yet, but Microsoft says it will be available to purchase for the 2020 holiday season.
