The 10 Best Big Cities To Live In The U.S.

Though urban settings are less than 3% of the landmass in the U.S., they contain about 80% of the total population. Big city living is a dream for many Americans, but with so many cities to choose from how do you decide which one's best to live in? Thankfully, Wallethub has ranked 62 of America's biggest cities to see which comes out on top.

The cities were ranked based on safety, quality of life, economy, affordability, education, and healthcare.

The city that came out on top may be a surprising one: Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was the top of the list for affordability, with it having the lowest population living in poverty and the highest number of people who actually own homes. It also had the lowest crime rate of all the cities polled and was second for the highest percentage of people over age 25 with a high school diploma or higher. If you love the sun and the sand, Virginia Beach is a great option for you!

Austin, Texas was second on the list, despite being halfway down the list for affordability. Rounding out the rest of the top five was Seattle, Washington; San Diego, California; and Las Vegas, Nevada. The rest of the list included San Fransico, California; New York, New York; San Jose, California; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Portland, Oregon. Looks like California is the place to be based on how many times it made the list!
